Overview of Certification Board
The American
Association of Nurse Life Care Planners Certification Board (AANLCPCB)
provides oversight of the certification exam for nurse life care planners.
This oversight includes item writing and test development, tracking of
certificants, quality assurance of the exam, and update of exam content
based on industry changes. A passing score on the certification exam
allows a nursing professional to utilize the designation Certified Nurse
Life Care Planner (CNLCP). The Certification Board is a voluntary
organization comprised of 6 Registered Nurses specializing in life care
planning who have earned the designation of CNLCP as well as one public
member with an interest in the field.
MissionStatement
The mission of the AANLCP Certification Board is to
promote expertise and professionalism in the Nurse Life Care Planning by
recognizing practitioners who have met defined qualifications and
demonstrated knowledge through a certification examination in the
specialty.

Discrimination and ADA Policy
The
AANLCPCB does not discriminate against any individual on the basis of
race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability or any
other characteristic protected by law.
Sunday testing is permitted only for those candidates
submitting satisfactory evidence that their religious convictions prevent
them from taking the examination on Saturday. The special testing Center
fee is not required. Requests for Sunday Testing must be made in writing
at the time that the Application is submitted and must be received 8 weeks
before the testing date.
Special testing
arrangements may be made for special needs individuals in compliance with
ADA
by
submitting the application, examination fee, and a letter describing the
nature of the disability and the special accommodations needed for
testing. Requests for special testing needs individuals must be received
at least 8 weeks before the testing date. The special testing center fees
are not required. The
AANLCPCB contracted testing company ensures that all testing centers and
proctors are aware of federal laws for
ADA
compliance and non discrimination.
Code of Ethics
The following is the AANLCPCB code of
ethics:

Maintains continued levels of
competency for professionalism and ethical conduct.

Adheres to and abide by the
code of conduct for the registered nurse.

Holds in highest regard
privacy and confidential information of its certificants. Ensures that
all decisions made by the certification board are taken in accordance
with the written bylaws and that initial certifications and renewals
have an active unrestricted nursing license at the time of application
and/or renewal
Passing Scores
The passing score for the certification exam is
determined by the Certification Board in collaboration with testing
corporation's statistical analysis. This process is completed with every
examination revision at minimum every 2
years.
