The Certification Board is a voluntary board that oversees the certification process for Nurse Life Care Planners. The commitment as a board member is for two years. The first year a board member assists in assigned tasks. In the second year the board member will serve an executive level as Chair, Co-Chair or Treasurer.

The Board oversees and provides annual review of the nationwide certification exam. This includes coordination and collection of new test questions and item writing. In addition, the board is responsible for the administrative processes for certifying, recertifying and addressing public concerns for Nurses holding CNLCP certification, maintaining the web page and responding to questions and concerns regarding certification.

The board functions are coordinated via conference calls as needed, but at a minimum 3-4 times per year; in person meetings 1-2 times per year and responses to questions from members as received. Expenses are reimbursed for in person meetings based on the budget.
